1465 Becomes a citizen of Bruges.
1474 Admitted to the Confraternity of Our Lady in the Snow in Bruges, all members of which were either wealthy or aristocratic.
1479 Completes his largest commission, The Mystic Marriage of St Catherine, for the hospital of St Jan in Bruges.
1481 Memling, together with over 200 other citizens of Bruges, is repaid money lent to support war against France. He is one of the wealthiest citizens in the town.
1487 Memling’s wife dies.
1489 He completes the Shrine of St Ursula – a Gothic reliquary made of carved wood with eight paintings decorating the sides.
1491 Memling receives a commission for a triptych for Lübeck cathedral in Germany.
1492 Completes a commission for a large altarpiece (most of which is now lost) for the abbey of Nájera in Spain.
1494 Dies in Bruges.
